The wine trail doesn't have just wineries anymore. Now you can enjoy hard ciders and visit distilleries. Trail begins 45 mins away, either in Ithaca or Watkins Glen.

Arnot Art Museum
The museum displays a permanent collection of seventeenth to nineteenth century European paintings and nineteenth and twentieth century American art. Also offers temporary exhibitions from around the world. ​

If shopping is your thing, the Arnot Mall is 15 mins away. In that same area is a conglomerate of chain stores: Field & Stream, JoAnn Fabrics, Lowe’s, PetSmart, WalMart, etc.
Booth Library
The Booth Library is the center for genealogy and historical research at the Chemung County Historical Society. It holds approximately 3,000 books, 30,000 manuscripts, 16,000 photographic images, and 11,000 maps and architectural drawings.

Dedicated to the collection, preservation, and presentation of the history of the Chemung Valley region.

Mark Twain Study
Located on the Elmira College campus, Twain wrote many of his works in this octagonal building.
National Soaring Museum
The museum presents the heritage of motorless flight. 5-10 mins away. While there, watch the gliders get towed; see "Harris Hill Soaring."

Trolley into Twain Country Tours
Seasonally, during the months of July and August, hop aboard The Elmiran for a one-hour, narrated tour of historic Elmira.

Also has a gift shop and you can grab a bite to eat at the Wings Cafe. 15 mins away.
Woodlawn Cemetery
Final resting place of Mark Twain, and 3,000 confederate soldiers from the Civil War prison in Elmira.

Housed in Corning’s old City Hall, this museum features American art. Note: this is not a museum featuring Norman Rockwell.

Part of the Paleontological Research Institution. Has a treehouse, butterflies, huge aquarium, resident fox, hawk, and turkey vulture.

Museum of the Earth
The Museum of the Earth is an educational program of the Paleontological Research Institution. Exhibits change, but always a lot of hands-on experiences for kids.​
Taughannock Falls
Taughannock Falls has a 215-foot drop and is quite impressive, and runs all year long.

​Pennsylvania Grand Canyon
Often referred to as the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania and the Pine Creek Gorge, the PA Canyon area stretches for over 45 miles with depths of nearly 1500 feet. It's dynamic topography creates many scenic wonders, including steep canyon walls and waterfalls. The beginning of the canyon is about an hour's drive.
